Cars 4 Kids Grand Tour - 2021

Cars 4 Kids Grand Tour is a road rally that is held every year to fundraise for a charity that helps kids in need throughout the Salt Lake City area. This years drive was definitely one to remember, 5 days of breathtaking views and some of the best driving roads in the United States. This rally is one of the few times that give us the opportunity to un plug from our daily lives and go enjoy our cars the way they were meant to be driven. Day 1 had us driving up through Park City on some newly paved backgrounds and on into the mountains where we got the first taste of the amazing roads. We continued on to Moab where a fun night filled with drinks and food awaited. Day 2 was a long one with a total of 12 hours in the car, but boring was the last word on anyones mind. The group made their way up to aspen by following roads that offered every type of driving you could ask for, from long sweepers to technical switchback there was something for everyone. This day was the only time we ran into bad weather where our group was hit with flash flooding, heavy rain, and even hail! We made it through the storm without any damage and continued on to our hotel, the St. Regis in Aspen Colorado. Day 3 was the first day out of Aspen and the views were beautiful, the trees were starting to change color and the rods led the group to a few small towns where we stopped for lunch and ice cream. the roads back were just as good allowing each driver to relax and take in the views of the Rocky Mountains. Day 4 was another fun loop drive that led us from Aspen into telluride and had us driving on the million dollar highway before heading back to the St. Regis for a good nights rest. Day 5, the final day, was one of the best endings to a rally we have experienced. The last day's route was from Aspen to Colorado Springs, where each driver had a final chance to enjoy the curvy roads and breathtaking views. The highlight of the day was driving to the top of Pikes Peak, an elevation of 14,115 feet, where we could look out and see the beauty of our country. The final night was booked at the Broadmoore, a hotel steeped in history that ended with a fun night of bowling.

The Grand Tour holds itself above your average rally and gives each driver a unique opportunity to drive their cars and help children in need. The best part about the rally is knowing that all of the effort put in and money raised is passed on to help children stay connected to their families while staying at the Hospital. This years charity was the Ronald McDonald house of Salt Lake City, an organization that offers free on site housing to families who's children are at the hospital for extended periods of time. You can follow this link to the Ronald McDonald house website if you are interested in learning more. We can't thank Cars 4 Kids foundation enough for putting on such an amazing event and can't wait to see where next years drive takes us.
