Hairpins: Inaugural Ladies Takeover at Utah Motor Sport Campus
The ladies have taken over the Utah Motorsports Campus! Tuesday, October 27th 2020, Warehouse, Luxe Automotives, and Cars for Kids foundation hosted our first women’s only track day. Women of all driving abilities, first timers to seasoned pros, came together to enjoy the art of driving as well as raise funds for our event’s benefactor, Peace House Park City.
The Ladies Takeover was our first Hairpins event. Hairpins is our female specific group for Warehouse members. Hairpin’s intention is to get more women into the car community through hosted events such as track days, rallies, cruises, and in house social events. Our major event proceeds, such as our Ladies Takeover track day, go to benefit Peace House. Hairpins events are created for women by women to benefit women.
The day started with a presentation from the executive director from Peace House Park City, Kendra. Peace House is a safe house and upward mobility program that provides a safe place for women in situations of domestic abuse in our community. This is such an important organization in our community as one in three women in Utah will be a victim of domestic abuse in their lifetime. To learn more about Peace House Park City click HERE. We invite you to donate!
Once the track was hot, our beginners were taught how to drive a manual car while our pros were able to experience their supercars at full speed on the race track. All drivers were paired with a female instructor who was able to train them throughout the day and help them feel more comfortable in their vehicle. By the end of the day all of our attendees were driving like pros.
It was so great to see so many strong, incredible women come together for an amazing track day.
