ICON FJ40

As a modern interpretation of the classic Toyota FJ40, Jonathan and Jamie Ward of Los Angeles based ICON 4X4 completely “reimagines” the FJ40 to their specifications, involving a frame off restoration. The majority of the restoration consists of hand built construction and bespoke ICON manufactured parts and accessories to tailor to each clients wants and needs, leaving only a few components such as the chassis (though reinforced), hood, and grill as the remaining original, Toyota produced parts. Originally purchased by Actress Angie Harmon, this particular 2008 FJ40 ICON is the 12th FJ40 produced from ICON using an original 1970 J40 chassis. This vehicle’s hand built 5/32” thick 5052 H32 aluminum body features a hybrid blend Teflon coat and Cardinal paint powder coat in Spruce Green and also comes with 3/4 – 1 ton Dynatrac axles (60 rear, 44 front), 4-wheel disc brakes, power steering, a 350-hp 400 ft/lbs torque 5.7 liter GM RamJet V8 engine, and shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive.Moving the the interior, the floors are polyuria coated and the seats upholstered in OE German marine vinyl with woven Chilewich contrast panels bringing modern comfort, innovation, and performance to a classic design seldom seen on roads today.
